This month is a fairly busy time for truckersworld. On the 28th March we will be having our annual get - together at The Savoy Hotel in Skegness, plenty of members are attending and the night will give the opportunity to put a face to a name and see who has been chatting on the forums.
It is a evening of enjoyment with private room and bar, a disco, and buffet and this year a raffle to raise funds for the Truckersworld sponsored olympic athlete hopeful. Most importantly it is a chance to meet fellow colleagues and build up on friendships which is often difficult in our profession.
On the 18th March I will be travelling with the film crew from the BBC series "cars, cops and crminals" The new series is to include an hour episode on freight crime and will give me the opportunity to bring to light on the show the problems that face most of us on a daily basis. Truck crime last year rose 83% yet very little seems to be happening to combat it.
The Truckersworld TTTA will be given a good airing on the show and I hope to be given the opportunity to present it to the Industry, Truck Crime does effect us all and everyone in the Industry so every little helps in combating it, which is why I am surprised that it has not been endorsed further. Hopefully this programme will finally present the opportunity for Companies to use the TTTA.
The forum has had a good clean up and an opportunity to make it better for all, somewhere to debate the important ssues and other areas for some fun and banter. Fairly new to the forum is its own advice and help on all those insurance problems. Priory Insurance Brokers are on the forum as the experts in the field to offer any help or advice you ask for as well as offering competitive insurance quotes with no commitment. Use the link to talk direct or visit the forum. http://www.prioryinsurance.co.uk Whether it be car, van or truck, well worth a call to get a quote.
There is still much talk about the CPC and the Truckersworld protest continues to gather strength even more so as details of the flaws in this introduction come to light. An expense to driver and the Industry with no benefit to safety or the standard of driving, it must be brought back into consultation before the September start and be properly thought out. Please continue to sign the protest form on the website and make give Truckersworld an opportunity to present a massive show of hands against this debacle.
Truckersworld is all about communication, we use your views and concerns to work on and to contact the people to whom they relate. Only by joining in with the debates can we be sure we represent the voice of truckers. Register on the forum and join the many that want to see things improve, with your help we can hopefully make a change.
Drive Safe and take care.
