Saturday 5th April saw the first annual get together for a social evening of truckersworld members, It turned out to be a fantastic night with disco, entertainment ,large buffet and plenty of liquid refreshment. It has proved so popular that the next get together is already planned for June 28th in Carlisle. This will be a regular annual event for the members and hopefully the numbers will grow over the years. Always good to meet on a social side and make friends with colleagues and put faces to names. brings a true meaning to Truckersworld in Uniting Drivers. Fancy joining in then go to the forum for more information.
Following our meeting with Extra MSAs we have now been informed that they are to set up some security boxes within the Truck Parking area as a deterrent to theft and crime. A good start by them and we will continue to talk and try to get further improvements.
We are still awaiting a response from the DfT following our meeting to find out how much they have taken on board, whether them announcing £24m on a campaign to improve foreign vehicles on the UKs roads in down to us we will never know but good to see they are doing a "little" something. Keep up to date with everything Truckersworld is doing to try and bring better facilities and improvements to our conditions of work on the forum, with 8957 topics there is something for everyone, some important debates down to the fun and banter, with lots of Photos to compile it all.
